FORKS

When you want to savour a good meal, forks come in handy. They're also useful for chewing your opponent's pieces in a chess game!

A fork is a common chess strategy in which a single piece attacks two or more pieces at the same moment. The attacking piece is called the forking piece, whereas the forked pieces are the forces who are assaulted.

PINS

In any chess match, tactics play an important role. The pin is one of the most prevalent basic techniques you can utilise to surprise your opponent and win the game.

A pin is a strategy that you can use to keep one or more of your opponent's pieces from moving. You can achieve it by attacking the other player's forces in such a way that if the assaulted piece moves, you can explore a much larger vulnerability. The pinned piece usually prevents an attack on a more valued piece, but it can also safeguard a critical defender or even obstruct a checkmate.

SKEWERS

To improve as a chess player, you must first understand chess tactics. Let's look at one of the most prevalent chess tactics skewers and how you might use it to your advantage.

One of the most basic chess tactics is the skewer. It entails using aligned pieces to gain material or, in some situations, a strategic advantage over the other player.
